Peter Wortel (1954) studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and the Academy Minerva at Groningen. Themes in his work are Judaism, architecture, cities and industry.

Peter works 3 and 2 demensional with different types of techniques. His work often has a strong monumental character. However, the basis is always a line drawing. Peter makes line drawings

because he follows the contours of the subject. The resulting these drawings are a good starting points for other works. Reliefs of weathered zinc, copper and aluminum. Sculptures and installations of glass, plastic or wood and metals. He also makes relief prints (wood and lino cuts) and these are hand-rubbed. He does not use a printing press.

Peter has exhibited in Europe, USA, China, Australia and Russia. He has also has various commisions by banks, institutions hospitals and private people at home and abroad.
