Prominent themes in his work are architecture, cities and the people who live there. Industry, buildings and harbours with their tunnels, stairs and apertures. But also city life. Cities are unequivocally bound up with the activities of people. Peter makes both two- and three-dimensional work, using various techniques.
His work has a strong monumental character, but it all starts with linear drawing. Peter’s drawings are based on observation, and follow the contours of the objects. The resulting drawings are complete in themselves, but can also serve as a starting-point for other work: reliefs made from corroded zink, copper and aluminum; sculptures and installations made of glass, plastic or wood. Woodcuts hand-printed with thick layers of ink.
Peter has exhibited his work at the London Transport Museum, the Bury Museum of Art (both in England) and at Gallery Labirinth in Ljublijana (Slovania). He has also done work commissioned by the ING Bank, the RABO Bank and the van Mesdag Clinic in the Netherlands. Peter regularly organises workshops, bringing artists from different countries together to work and exhibit their art. His work hangs in schools, businesses, museums, and in homes in the Netherlands as well as other countries.
